Our Iai Katana: Data and Innovation
Share
We base our design on data from renowned brands such as Nosyudo, Tozando, and Minosaka, combined with real-world experience with zinc alloy blades. As a result, we have determined 830g as the standard weight for our blade, with a balance point approximately 13 cm in front of the tsuba. The blade length is 72 cm, and the handle length is 26 cm, making it a design that combines practicality and versatility.
Additionally, we offer a wide range of customization options to meet the needs of different users. These include adjustments to blade length, handle length, tsuba, blade width at the base (motohaba), blade width near the tip (sakihaba), curvature (sori), kissaki (tip shape), and a metallic finish for the blade. For the scabbard, users can choose their preferred koshirae style, scabbard color (e.g., ishime or kuro urushi), as well as the koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and kojiri (scabbard tip). Furthermore, we can tailor the feel of the weapon, crafting it to be lighter and more agile or heavier and more robust, providing martial artists and practitioners with a personalized, high-quality experience.
What makes us truly proud is that we are the world's first brand to offer buffer-based sparring training equipment with a sheathable design. This innovation solves the long-standing issue of traditional training tools being unable to simulate real combat details, providing martial arts enthusiasts and practitioners with comprehensive support and assurance in their pursuit of practical combat training.
